The following methods can be used to identify inferior or "three-no" (no manufacturer, no production date, no quality certification) masks:

1. When choosing a mask, first check the packaging. The packaging must clearly specify the type of mask, such as disposable medical masks, surgical masks, and medical protective masks. Meanwhile, check if the packaging displays information like the production license number, and carefully see if the production license number contains the Chinese character "械" (Xie), which indicates it is a medical device.
2. Check the code. For surgical masks, see if the packaging contains the code "y0069-2011". You can also verify by searching the company name of the product on the "Medical Devices" page of the official website of the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) to obtain the manufacturer's production information and approval number.
3. Trademarks are labels of brands and guarantees of quality. You can choose to buy from familiar or well-known brands; selecting a good brand is also a way to ensure quality.
4. Inferior masks can be identified by their appearance. Due to poor-quality materials, they may have an unpleasant odor, making them smell strange. What's worse, the inferior materials used may cause facial allergies.
5. Check light transmittance. Generally, inferior masks have very thin fabric; some even have visible holes or gaps to the naked eye. The mask as a whole is like a veil—lacking tension, fragile, and may be torn apart with a little force.
6. Check the craftsmanship. Inferior masks are definitely crudely made. When touched carefully by hand, their rough details can be easily felt.
